A little history of DP Seeds 

Duane Palmer, one of the original co-founders of Rio Colorado Seeds, founded D. Palmer Seed Co. in 1985. A number of breeding co-operations have been put together to create an extensive product line for DPS to offer its dealers and thus to growers around the world. DPS offers a wide selection of commercial vegetable seed varieties from breeding programs worldwide.

Onions have always been one of the strengths of DPS. Duane has been involved with onions since 1982. Duane has been marketing onion seeds since that time. DPS’s focused on the marketing and distribution of onion seed varieties from private/independent breeders from the US and other countries.

In 2007 Carolina Seeds (a subsidiary of NE Seed) merged with D. Palmer Seed to form DP Seeds LLC. Since both companies had utilized each others strengths for some time, the merger seemed like a natural evolution.

In the January following our merger, we lost our partner and friend Duane Palmer doing what he loved—being with family and friends in the Seed business during the ASTA meeting. We will miss his knowledge and leadership as we continue to grow.

DP Seeds is involved in collaborations to improve its range of products and to offer cutting edge varieties through its associations with major breeding programs. DP Seeds is dedicated to building on the relationships that has helped us become an upcoming full line seeds provider.
